    AUE was delighted to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Sports Council today. The affiliation agreement was signed at Dubai Sports Council by AUE President, Prof./Dr. Muthanna Abdul Razzaq and Dr. Ahmad Al Sharif, Secretary General, Dubai Sports Council.
    It was indeed a memorable event witnessed by members of the council and AUE team consisting of the Provost, Dean of College of Business Administration and Media and Mass Communication, Director of International Office and Protocol Department and many others who were highly enthusiastic of this collaboration that will certainly support the competitive and thriving sports management industry in the UAE.
    This partnership aims to facilitate a wider reach and is presumed to enhance the totality of sports experience in the UAE. “We see this MOU as a way to take our commitment to the next level to capitalize on several related opportunities for both our esteemed institutions”, said the Provost .
    The AUE President, Prof./Dr. Muthanna said, “In any educational setting, such affiliation agreement plays a significant role in understanding and meeting the market demands. He further added that we at AUE are moving from theory to practice by joining hands with such reputed councils that will facilitate AUE’s mission of focusing on application based learning, critical in delivery of quality education.”
    AUE, thanked Dubai Sports Council for their kind hospitality during the signing off ceremony.

    It was another victorious moment filled with excitement when AUE won against AUD by 2-0 score repeating the history.
    Though the excitement made the watchers shift uneasily in their seats as AUD threatened to frustrate the league leaders, however, by the end, the victory was as comfortable as a favorite armchair,

    The AUE Pegasus withstood every comeback attack the AUD threw at them and skated off with a exciting win scoring 2-0. AUE Pegasus repeated the history recalling the moments of lastyear’s inter university tournament.
    By the virtue of this win AUE Pegasus leads the Group A table, scoring 14 goals in three matches with no goals against. The team also qualifies to play the quarter final for the Emirates of Dubai.
    “There was emotion, there was momentum and there was excitement, but the best was to witness the fruits of the team’s hard work,” AUE coach said.
    AUE team Manager said, “Beating a strong team of AUD at their own backyard is a real thrill and we are happy that we did this twice in a row.”

    United Arab Emirates – Dubai 10th Feb: As part of its commitment to community services the Guidance and Counseling Center at the American University in the Emirates organized a workshop on Creating Positive School Experience, for the educators and counselors from different schools in UAE.
    The main objective of the said workshop was to increase the awareness of the guidance counselors, teachers and principals regarding the increasing number of learning disabilities problems in school. It also aimed to enhance the educators’ skills in assessing learning disabilities and equipping them with proper intervention on how to create a positive school experience for the AUE students.
    Prof. Muthanna Abdul Razzaq, AUE President welcomed all the participants and mentioned that AUE being the leading university in the region is committed to contribute to the advancement of educational process and promote academic excellence to the community. Furthermore, he emphasized that AUE is making excellent education available for all, even for those with disabilities. He pointed out that no one should be deprived to learn and dream as AUE believes in nothing is impossible.
    Dr. Hussain Ali Masseeh, Social Expert/ Clinical psychologist of Community Development Authority facilitated the workshop. Dr. Masseeh said that learning disabilities is often neglected in the society. Many students pass their schools without being detected that they have learning disabilities.
    He emphasized that is very important for educators to be equipped with proper skills to assess learning disabilities in earlier stage so the schools can give proper intervention and make learning a positive experience.
    The workshop ended with lots of suggested tools to identify learning disability at the early stage to create positive experience at school for all students.

    AUE Tops Inter College Environment Public Speaking Competition

    AUE students participated in the 14th Regional Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition 2014 on 27th November 2014. The competition was organized by Emirate Environmental Group to enhancing awareness on environmental issues in the region, among the young generation.
    The competition on public speaking was held between all universities from MENA region, where American University in the Emirates was awarded and students were appreciated for their participation in the competition. Dr. Wasan AL Taie (Associate Professor, College of Education, AUE) was instrumental in bringing the best out of our students during the competition.
